Wallet Crisis Diverted

Genderfork recently posted a quote that said “I feel so comfortable wearing a binder and a skirt” and it struck a chord with me because it made me realize that I seem to have a more feminine gender identity in my bottom half than my top. I’m perfectly happy in women’s skinny jeans, but pretty much exclusively wear men’s or boy’s shirts.

It also shed light on my wallet issues. I refuse to carry anything that even remotely resembles a purse, but I can’t fit my wallet in my pocket because I mostly wear women’s pants.

I don’t know if this trick has already been discovered by many queers, but I figured I’d better share since the discovery was quite liberating for me. It turns out that men’s wallets have a flip insert (pictured above) that you can pull out and use it on its own. It’s small enough to fit comfortably in women’s tiny pockets but can hold a surprising amount of essentials! It fits my credit card, a few business cards, ID, Charlie Card (“Like” if you know what that is), and I can even fold a few dollar bills and put them in there.

Wallet crisis diverted, and I’m one step closer to appearing suave when I reach into my back pocket to pull out my credit card rather than fumbling through my bag.

Oh hay there

Found this one myself, and I hear she’s single. Get on it people. She lives in Lund, Sweden and her tumblr is notatallheinous.tumblr.com.

In other news… H&M has a little boys’ section?? what. how long has this been going on and why don’t I own everything from there. I feel like I’ve failed as the lesbian fashion jedi.

Plugs/tunnels in all pictures are from bodyjewelleryshop.com. I continue in her words:

“A little shout out to Cheap Monday jeans: they are mostly unisex, very decent price (about half what you’ll pay for a pair of Levi’s), extremely comfortable… They come in all colors/dyes and shapes/styles. Literally. Plain black to glittery and pink, they have it all.”

Sonia and Ashley’s Picks: Favorite Watches

Looking for a new watch? Our picks  ranging from $65 to $380  will give you some ideas on adding some statement to you rocking outfit. From sporty to sleek to classic, these brands are the ones that inspire our fashion aesthetics.

1. 666 Barcelona, Colour Triple Time Zone ($170)

Comfortable and durable. Every time I look at it I feel like I’m diving into a sea of beauty. Every time people ask me what the other time zones are set to, I pretend to have clients in Australia and Japan. You can see me wearing this minimalist triple timezone gem here.

2. Rosendahl Flemming Bo Hansen QA Analog Plain Face Wrist Watch ($380)

As simple as it gets. Can you read it? Doesn’t even matter.

3. G-shock, Classic Casino ($110)

The ultimate sport watch. Some inner working are actually floating inside to shell so that it can absorb shock. The thing apparently never breaks, so it’s a good bet if you like to skateboard/snowboard/bike/swim/throw yourself off planes. See Ashley sporting it here.

4. Braun ($215)

A sleek square face giving you some personality but away from the limelight. Featured in this post.

5. Diesel ($295)

If badass means having a watch that tells time 4 different ways, I want in!

6. Tikkr ($65)

Simple, comfy, and lots of colors with exchangeable bands! Wonderfully unisex. See me in it.

7. Rolex Submariner (don’t ask)

It’s always nice to dream.

What are your favorite watches? Leave it in the comments.

Check out those Botas

Submitted by Haylie in Norfolk, Virginia, this whole picture is pretty great (I clearly don’t spent enough time chilling under overpasses) but I’m particularly smitten with her shoes. She seems to be combining a skater and hipster look, which for the record, I’m totally down with.

Of course I ended up stalking the shoes. I think it’s funny that one of the few negative rating they received on the TOMS website was from someone complaining that they made her feet look like men’s feet. What a disaster!

Available here

She bought the watch 3 years ago and it doesn’t seem that Vans carries them anymore. But here’s a similarly shaped watch I’ve been ogling by Braun. Somehow the women’s version is $15 less. Why watches need to be separated by gender I will never understand.

Heading to Work

If you dress this well, the women in your workplace won’t be able to stop gazing over your stylish physique. But be careful - office romance can get tricky. If you prefer to avoid the drama of an interoffice affair, match your outfit with a stare so intimidating that those who are fawning over you will be too shy to approach. Lucky for me, I freelance and don’t have an office, so I don’t have to worry about shaking off the ladies.
