Anonymous asked: I'm going to a party to celebrate my grandmothers 100'th birthday and I was wondering what to wear. The rest of my family/my relatives are going to wear suits and dresses. I dont wanna wear a dress and I dont look good in a suit. Thinking about a shirt and a vest with a bowtie or something like that. Kinda have a low budget 2. Any suggestions? Thanks 4 an awesome blog.

Assuming she is your biological grandmother, congrats. You have some GOOD GENES. I don’t believe you that you don’t look good in suits, because everyone does as long as it’s the right fit. Shirt + Vest + Bow tie is an excellent choice though. Since you have a low budget I’d first check out thrift stores in your area because you never know what might pop up. If you have more time, go back a few days later. The shelves rotate and new things will pop up. If you don’t have any luck there, Topman and American Apparel carry well-priced bow ties. I’m imagining you’d want a tux style vest; both the women’s and the men’s sections at Banana RepublicH&MTopshop/Topman, and J. Crew have them. For women’s button-ups, try the Gap, Banana Republic, and H&M. For men’s try Topman or Boy’s departments.

Black Brogues Done Casual

Anonymous asked: Ok so i took your advice, and decided to try on some black brogues from the boys section. I brought them to wear them for my graduation having never ever owned a pair of smart black shoes. After falling head of heels for them (excuse the pun) i’ve rather fell in love with them and would love to wear them with something more casual but i’m at a bit of a loss what to put with them. Any suggestions?

This is exciting! They would go with pretty much anything; denim, chinos, you name it. They would be especially cool with brightly colored socks. You could pick some up at Topman or American Apparel

Long Walks on the Beach

They took your Okcupid profile seriously and suggested a walk on the beach. Suddenly you wonder why you listed it as a typical Friday night activity if you wouldn’t have any clothes for the occasion. Lucky for you, I’ve picked some dandification to impress your sweetheart-to-be in. Next stop: learning how to speak French (okay).

Atwell Mens Knitted Jumper, available at Joules.com for £69.95

The beach feels timeless and relaxed, so skip the watch this time and try some bracelets. The GoodWood Bracelet 3-Pack in Blue, Natural, & Dark Wood, available at karmaloop.com for $20.

Anonymous asked: I really want to start wearing bow ties. What are you supposed to wear them with and where can you buy some that are affordable?

You wear them with collared shirts. Bow ties can get expensive, so I’d first try thrift stores and ebayTopman and American Apparel carry well-priced bow ties. Handmade by Emy and the Belle and the Beau on Etsy make beautiful ties but they might be out of your price range. Check out the bow ties tag for more inspiration. And here are instructions on tying bow ties.

Oh hay there

Found this one myself, and I hear she’s single. Get on it people. She lives in Lund, Sweden and her tumblr is notatallheinous.tumblr.com.

In other news… H&M has a little boys’ section?? what. how long has this been going on and why don’t I own everything from there. I feel like I’ve failed as the lesbian fashion jedi.

Plugs/tunnels in all pictures are from bodyjewelleryshop.com. I continue in her words:

“A little shout out to Cheap Monday jeans: they are mostly unisex, very decent price (about half what you’ll pay for a pair of Levi’s), extremely comfortable… They come in all colors/dyes and shapes/styles. Literally. Plain black to glittery and pink, they have it all.”

Cocktail Oufit

I attended the Keshet Cabaret last night and was excited to get to wear my new Topman pants again. I’d also like to note that I got new black socks from American Apparel and they are really comfy and well-priced! So I’d recommend something like this for your next queer cocktail party.

Anonymous asked: Best boxer briefs? I find that fruit of the loom can fit really loose. Hanes is good quality but sometimes can be a little to tight on my lady thighs. I've found that Gap is actually pretty comfortable and comes in a lot of colors. I'm interested in trying other brands to see what works best. Any suggestions?

I really like Diesel’s boxer briefs, but haven’t tried them. I bought American Apparel’s Cotton Spandex Jersey Boy Brief and the edge immediately started shredding; cute but not worth the money. I also own a pair of Ellen’s just for the novelty but they are not super comfortable.

Any other ideas?
