You’ve inspired me to do a beach date post, so keep an eye out. I would just pick up a button-up, maybe add a watch or a rope belt and then pair that with the jeans and sneakers. If you are on the andro side check out the button-ups at Topman (they fit us queerfolks super well). If on the femmesicle, try the Gap’s The Perfect Shirt. You could also do a polo if you’re feeling a little preppier. But basically you should wear whatever you feel comfortable in and be yourself, because queers love that shit.

This answer might help. I think boot cut is the way to go. Wearing darker colors can be slimming. Pay attention to back pockets, because their placement and size can effect how big your hips look. I’m curious if anyone has tried the “Sexy Boyfriend Jeans” at the Gap that I showed in this post. They look like they could be hip slimming.

I love my Abercrombie & Fitch skinny jeans, (featured here and pictured below.) Ashley does well with Levi’s Women’s department, Demi Curve (featured here) and American Eagle Skinny Jeans (featured here). I’ve also heard great things about Gap Real Straight Jeans. Formal Skinny Pants: Try Ann Taylor’s Signature Polished Cotton Cropped Pants, Gap’s Really skinny pants, and J. Crew’s Cafe Capri.

If you are going to wear a vest, you will most likely want a button-up dress shirt. For women’s try Banana Republic Tailored non-iron sateen shirt, Devon & Jones Long Sleeve Stretch Sateen Blouse, or men’s try any of Topman’s dress shirts or Ratio Clothing. Department store boys sections will have dress shirts but the sleeves will probably be too short. Or you could hit the thrift stores and then get things tailored.

Vests: Try Banana Republic, H&M, Topshop/Topman, J. Crew, Express, or thrift stores. Keep in mind that women’s vest are made a lot differently and will try to enhance your curves. If you don’t want that I’d go with men’s.
