I see hats like that around H&M, so it probably is in style. Regardless, working a vintage piece into your wardrobe is a great idea. I could see it going with anything, but maybe try to have one other aspect of your outfit relate the hat, whether it be another item from the time period, a matching color or material, or a reference to the culture it came from.

These the high school popular-kid nostalgia pieces seem to be especially popular now, though never really went out of style. Forever 21 has about 10 different kinds, but based on my experience with their clothing quality compared to H&M — which goes for the same price — I’d recommend H&M’s version for women.
